If you’ve had “Le Poisson Steve” playing on repeat like I have (thank you, Tomo!), then you’ll understand why I had to make this little guy into something tangible. Inspired by the viral song and my kids’ total obsession with it, I sculpted my very own Le Poisson Steve—this time as a tiny keycap!
He was carefully handmade from polymer clay, shaped with detail and love, and I added soft pastel shading around his arms, legs, and tail to give him a bit more dimension and charm. Once I was happy with the final shape and details, I sealed him in a layer of glossy resin for that durable, smooth finish that catches the light just right.
The result? A ridiculously cute little fish character that now lives on my keyboard—and brings me a ridiculous amount of joy every time I type.
Honestly, I think this is the start of a whole new obsession. I can totally see myself making more fun characters into keycaps. Have a favorite creature or character you think would be fun? Let me know!
