Ingredients

  • one cucumber (Japanese, English, Persian, or Pickling) – about 1 1/2 cups sliced for one cucumber

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1/2 Tsp sugar

  • 1 Tsp sesame oil

  • 1/4 tsp sesame seeds

  • 1 grated garlic clove

  • two green onions, chopped

  • one pinch of MSG (optional)


Instructions:


1. Prepare the Cucumber:

  • In the deli container, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and grated garlic. 3. Assemble the Salad:

  • Pour the dressing over the sliced cucumbers.

  • Add the chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a pinch of MSG (if using) to the container.

  • Seal the container with the lid and shake well until the cucumber slices are well-coated with the dressing. 4. Serve:

  • Serve the cucumber salad immediately, or let it chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
