Ingredients
one cucumber (Japanese, English, Persian, or Pickling) – about 1 1/2 cups sliced for one cucumber
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 Tsp sugar
1 Tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp sesame seeds
1 grated garlic clove
two green onions, chopped
one pinch of MSG (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cucumber:
Wash the cucumber thoroughly.
Using a mandoline, slice the cucumber thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) and place the slices in a 32oz Food Storage Deli Container with Airtight Lids. 2. Add the Dressing:
In the deli container, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and grated garlic. 3. Assemble the Salad:
Pour the dressing over the sliced cucumbers.
Add the chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a pinch of MSG (if using) to the container.
Seal the container with the lid and shake well until the cucumber slices are well-coated with the dressing. 4. Serve:
Serve the cucumber salad immediately, or let it chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavours to meld.
